Rich culture and a forgotten village very close to the capital of Albania.
Dorez is a small village located 20 km from Tirana. This is a spread village in several parts (neighborhoods) reachable only by foot. Interesting is also the presence of Illyrian culture that comes from the stone age and manifests itself in this territory from the beginning of the Bronze Age around 2000 BC.
This easy hike will take you in the castle ruins of Dorez (Kalaja e Dorezit) and in Karaj neighbored. You will also have the opportunity to find petrified sea shells and petrified plant life.
Hike to Dorez castle and you will have marvelous views towards the mountain range behind Tirana and the coast.

The view from the top of Dorez hill towards mountains of Dajti, Brar, Gaminit, Mali me Gropa and Kruja

Unlike the castle, the ruins of the school are still visible. The pupils of Dorez have to the center of commune Peze.
