Maja e Arapit or Harapit is located near Thethi village in Albanian Alps and it’s well known for its 800 m climbing wall. In the foot of this mountain is located the cave with the same name. This is a vertical cave that goes generaly up. The exploration for the cave Maja e Arapit has started in 1992 and now it is explored up to 365 m hight from the entrance of the cave. The perspectives for more exploration are not good at the moment because all the corridors are very narrow thus the work is very slow.
The first part of the cave can also be visited without equipments for ropes. In the entrance there is drinkable water which makes camping near the cave easier for climbers and cavers.
